Accessibility & Approach
Accessibility for the disabled
In 2015 was completed the work to improve accessibility for the disabled at the art spaces of the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete.
The work was carried out as part of the transnational cooperation programme Greece – Cyprus 2007-2013 in which the Municipality of Rethymnon in cooperation with the Municipality of Agia Napa realized the work “Agia Napa-Rethymno: Universally Accessible Cities”. The aim of this cooperation was improving the infrastructure and the overall conditions for the enhanced accessibility of facilities and services to disabled individuals.
The project at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete as it was expected ensures full accessibility for the disabled to all areas within and around the building. The premises are suitably converted to comply with safety specifications while ensuring functional mobility in the gallery as well as between floors.
