Antonakis Christodoulou
Rethymno - Los Angeles 11391,480 km
On Monday, 24 September 2012 the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete opened a new solo exhibition: "Rethymno – Los Angeles 11391,480 km" by the artist Antonakis Christodoulou.
After a trip to Los Angeles, the artist (who has grown up in Rethymno) decided to compare these two cities that seemed to have more in common than anyone would expect. The show consists mainly of photographs and drawings working as “proofs” and -why not- as a hilarious proposal for the future development of the city of Rethymno.
Antonakis Christodoulou was born in Athens in 1978, he studied painting at the Athens School of Fine Arts andFine Art Media at the Slade School of Fine Arts inUniversity College London. He works mainly with photography, drawings, collages and video. He has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions inGreece,Great Britain,Germany,France,Korea and theUS. He lives and works inAthens.
The exhibitions run through December 30, 2012.
The exhibition was part of the project “Imagine the City: Rethymno 2012” and organized by Imagineers group.
